Kay Tindle

Interim Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Innovation; Assistant Vice President for Strategic Development

Dr. Kay Tindle currently serves as the Interim Associate Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Innovation and the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Development in the Office of Research & Innovation. In these roles, she oversees the Innovation Hub at Research Park; Northwest Texas Business Resource Center; Office of Research Commercialization; Office of Research Development & Communications; STEM Center for Outreach, Research, & Education (STEM-CORE); and Texas Produced Water Consortium (TxPWC).

Dr. Tindle serves as a Co-PI on TTU’s National Science Foundation ADVANCE grant and as PI on the Texas Produced Water Consortium state-funded grant. She is also designated as the Chief Operating Officer for the Texas Tech Research Park, supporting 501(c)3 initiatives related to economic development, research and industry engagement, and regional strategies. We are working towards the buildout of an innovation district where industry and entrepreneurs will collide to create opportunities.

Prior to joining Texas Tech, Dr. Tindle served at the University of Central Oklahoma, interned at the Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education, and taught English around the world (Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, and South Korea). She still enjoys traveling with her husband, and someday they might also take their kids along on these adventures.
